There are a multitude of affiliate networks out there, covering a variety of markets and specialisms.

Here is my take on some of the networks that I’ve signed up to.

Affiliate Future

• Number of advertising programmes: 600+
• Easy to set up multiple advertising spaces (sites) ? Yes
• Payment threshold and options: £20 by BACS, £100 (if outside the UK and paid by cheque).

Pros

• 92 merchants under travel, 87 merchants in fashion and 44 merchants in home and garden.

Affiliate Window

• Number of advertising programmes: 602
• Easy to set up multiple advertising spaces (sites) ? Only if you read the FAQ!

“2. Is it possible to add an additional website to one account or is it necessary to open an additonal account for another website?
It is not necessary to signup for another account in order to use a merchants banners or links on multiple sites. You can add additional URLs into the site description box within your account one the Account Details page.”

• Payment threshold and options: £25 (BACS) / £100 (Cheque).

Cons

• When an affiliate joins the network a £5 charge is made. This charge is credited back to approved affiliates immediately and returned to the affiliate once £20 worth of commission has been generated.

Buy.at

• Number of advertising programmes: 230
• Easy to set up multiple advertising spaces (sites) ? You currently need to set up individual accounts, but this is currently being looked into.
• Payment threshold and options:£50 BACS or cheque.

Pros

• Marketing Toolkit - an easy way to access a wider breadth of information regarding programmes, split into advertising types such as retail, travel, finance, etc.

Commission Junction

• Number of advertising programmes: 547 for the UK
• Easy to set up multiple advertising spaces (sites) ? Yes, click on the Account tab, then Website Settings / Add a new web site.
• Payment threshold and options: £16 by BACS or cheque.

Pros

• 74 merchants for travel, 60 merchants for computers and electronics, 49 for recreation and leisure.

Cons

• If you want to take datafeeds from merchants it’s going to cost you

Tradedoubler

• Number of advertising programmes:  346
• Easy to set up multiple advertising spaces (sites) ? Yes, just go to Settings / Site Information / Register New Site.
• Payment threshold and options:£30 by BACS only.
